Michigan Fitness Foundation, Michigan
Jocelyn Hayward, MPH is a grants program manager at Michigan Fitness Foundation, where she coordinates Michigan Farm to Family: CSA, a USDA National Institute for Food and Agriculture’s Gus Schumacher Nutrition Incentive Program that improves nutrition security for families with limited resources while strengthening local food systems. This innovative program, developed by Michigan Fitness Foundation, increases the purchasing power of households experiencing food insecurity and connects them directly with Michigan farmers through incentivized Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) shares. In addition to her work with the local food economy, Jocelyn supports a statewide network of local organizations delivering SNAP-Ed programming with a focus on enhancing community-based strategies. She collaborates with cross-sector partners to strengthen Michigan’s food system through coordinated food policy action. Jocelyn’s passion for food access began while working with youth in Lexington, Kentucky middle schools during her Master of Public Health studies at the University of Kentucky, where she concentrated in health behavior.
