Honey Yang Estrada is the President of the North Carolina Community Health Worker Association. She was born in Fresno, California and moved to North Carolina when she was 11 years old. The eldest daughter of Hmong refugees who resettled in the United States following the Secret War, Honey’s lived experience fuels her passion for breaking down barriers and supporting families as they navigate complex systems.
A proud Community Health Worker with over 20 years of experience in healthcare and public health, Honey’s work is deeply rooted in community health, advocacy and systems change. She is a catalyst for racial and health equity, championing policies and programs that uplift communities.
Honey holds a Master’s in Public Health and lives in Newton, NC with her family. When she’s not leading change, you can find her teaching Zumba at the local library, bringing joy and movement to her local community.
