Susana Reza has 41 years’ experience in program management, development and implementation with non-profit social service programs. She is founder and Executive Director of El Paso Human Services, Inc., the largest provider of youth services in El Paso County. Under Ms. Reza’s leadership, the agency has received and successfully executed programs under federal, state, city and private funding and serves over 10,000 children and 500 adults each year. Her vast experience in grant writing, contract procurement, program administration and personnel management has been fundamental to the success of the organization. Agency programs focus on service delivery specifically for youth and young adults, victims of child abuse/neglect, young persons who have issues with mental health/substance abuse and are homeless or at-risk of homelessness.
The oldest contract was executed in 1985 with the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), a federally funded program that provides reimbursement for nutritious meals and snacks to eligible children enrolled in State licensed child care homes/centers. It currently includes Sponsorship of 200 Day Care Homes/Day Care Centers; At-Risk, Emergency Shelter and Summer Food Service Programs. Other agency programs include: Community Youth Development (CYD) -juvenile delinquency prevention; PRIDE Center-resource center for current and former foster youth and alumni of state-funded foster care for youth ages 16 to 25; Winchester Emergency Shelter for homeless male youth ages 18 to 24 years; Permanent Supportive Housing for disabled and chronically homeless youth ages 18 to 24; and Housing Programs offering short term rental payments and case management to homeless youth to assist with permanent housing placement.
Susana has exemplary vision for program and staff development and leads with patience, empathy, integrity and grit. She is a member and past President of the Texas CACFP Sponsor’s Association, El Paso Adult Protective Services Board member, El Paso Coalition for the Homeless Board member and member and past President of the National CACFP Forum (2015-2019). In recognition of her work, Susana was a recipient of the 2020 Friend of the Forum Award, National Anti-Hunger Advocate Recognition and 2017 recipient of The Legacy Award presented by El Paso Adult Protective Services.
