Project Bread, Massachusetts
Giovanny A Zuniga - Project Bread Ambassador -
A Colombian immigrant with extensive experience in the public sector and solidarity economy organizations. He holds a degree in Business Administration and an MBA in Project Management from the University of Lebrija in Madrid, Spain. For over ten years, he has held various positions in public sector entities, providing alternative solutions to populations directly or indirectly affected by forced displacement and armed conflict in the Colombian Pacific region. In the cooperative and solidarity economy sectors, he has worked with non-governmental organizations to strengthen marginalized and vulnerable communities, expanding their access to productive markets, with education as a fundamental pillar of his activities.
As a project consultant, he has worked in the education, transportation, and agricultural sectors, interacting with communities and public and private organizations to forge links with local development through participatory processes with community members.
Due to law enforcement challenges, he was forced to emigrate to the United States with his family six years ago. Like all immigrants, he faced a difficult process, but above all, a process of learning and adapting to a new world. This transition, with different jobs and meeting new people, has led him to explore new professional goals as a volunteer for social causes, a community leader, and currently a transit justice organizer and ambassador for Project Bread and the Coalition to End Hunger in Massachusetts.
As an immigrant who has experienced firsthand the process of adaptation and inclusion in the United States, Giovanny is committed to building bridges between Latino communities and their new surroundings. His goal is to help people recognize and leverage their skills and abilities to reach their full potential in their new home.
